When you think of a duo, whose the first combination that comes to your mind? Usually people think of sports duos, superhero duos or even comedy duos. Never in 2014 would any one think an American DJ and production duo would emerge. To shake the world with their smash hit single “Selfie”. Selfie climbed the charts to be a top twenty single in several countries.
“THE CHAINSMOKERS”! EDM-pop duo Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart originally comes from New York City, New York. The group focuses on Electronic dance music, Pop music and Electropop. Music awards aren’t a problem for this mastermind duo. In 2018 iheartradio music awards for dance artist of the year had five nominations, of which The Chainsmokers took first place.
Originally the DJ in the duo was Rhett Bixler.Chainsmokers were re-formed as an EDM DJ duo in 2012 under the management of Adam Alpert. It’s an enigma to think what the group would of sounded like with two expert Dj’s. I guess management has an ear for what musical chemistries will blow the lid off of listeners.
I know many wonder where the duo’s name originated. It’s just as you expected, During Alex pall college years he loved to smoke weed. The conception of the name isn’t atonement to the music they make, but merely just a name. They could be called “Chainlinks” and I’m pretty sure “Selfie” would still be a smash hit single in 2014.
Chainsmokers are a huge contribution to the dubstep community. Electronic dance music is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals. A majority of chainsmokers on tour appearances rely on huge nightclubs. Could you imagine blasting any of these genres at a opera concert?
The Chainsmokers has had handful of U.S. concerts scheduled in August, September and October. If you just missed their latest gig on August 26th at XS Nightclub in Las Vegas Nevada don’t worry. You still have the entire month of October to make an attempt to attend again. Don’t forget your glow stick necklace and most comfortable dubstep footwear.
